The Kenya Urban Support Program Phase II (KUSP II) is a national initiative aimed at fostering sustainable urban development and strengthening municipal governance in Kenya. The program builds on the success of KUSP I, focusing on improving infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and supporting the integration of marginalized and refugee-host communities. KUSP II is designed to address the rapid urbanization challenges facing Kenya’s municipalities, ensuring well-planned, resilient, and economically vibrant cities.
Strengthening institutional capacities in municipalities to enhance governance, transparency, and efficient service delivery.
Facilitating public-private partnerships (PPPs) to boost urban service provision and economic development.
Promoting sustainable urban infrastructure that supports economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Supporting data-driven urban planning and resilience strategies to improve disaster risk preparedness and climate adaptation.
Enhancing the inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups, including refugee-hosting communities, into urban development frameworks.
Strengthening the capacity of urban institutions to deliver resilient infrastructure and inclusive services, fostering sustainable urban development across Kenya.
